North Ronaldsay Sheep Dyke
Client: North Ronaldsay Trust
The unique North Ronaldsay Sheep Dyke is Category ‘A’ Listed and is believed to be the world’s largest drystone construction conceived as a single entity.
To ensure the long term survival of the dyke in its entirety the Trust arranged for a survey of the dyke to be undertaken, with the assistance of funding from the Pilgrim Trust.
Pentarq carried out a detailed on site condition survey in July 2009 using a GPS receiver, along with digital mapping techniques. A programme of repairs is currently underway.
