Conservation and Refurbishment of the Lighthouse Keepers’
Houses, North Ronaldsay.
The Lighthouses Project was started by North Ronaldsay Trust several years ago with the acquisition of the redundant Lightkeeper Houses from the Northern Lighthouse Board. The Lightkeeper Houses at the “new” Lighthouse have been conserved and refurbished with the assistance of various funders, including Heritage Lottery Fund, Historic Scotland and Orkney Islands Council. The Trust is now looking forward to their first season as quality tourist accommodation providers with the assistance of the National Trust for Scotland.
The next phase of the Lighthouse Project currently underway is the Conservation and Repair of the Old Beacon at Dennis Head.
